Hello and welcome!
I am a game engineer with a background in theatre and musical composition. No matter the medium I have worked in, I am always at my best when I am able to build and create, and video game development lives right at the nexus of my technical and artistic passions.
I draw a lot of inspiration from my favorite games, from industry classics like Ocarina of Time, with its masterful integration of music, story, and fun, to relatively newer releases such as Hades, whose expertly structured and beautifully dynamic dialogue system helps instill a constant sense of progression to its cyclical gameplay.
While my games serve to connect people through shared experiences of play, my recent work as lead engineer for the mobile startup Bandto seeks to connect people to each other in the real world through mutual affiliations and associations in order to make the necessary yet daunting task of professional networking more accessible to all.
I'm a details guy. I've designed and served a menu of ten distinct Lord of the Rings-themed drinks for a party, eternally scrutinized single word choices within lyrics for my musical projects, and spent as much time as was required fiddling with custom platforming physics until they felt "just right".
And I would absolutely do it again. Whether working alone or with a team, honoring what makes a project unique is important to me. Maybe not every single user or player will notice everything I implement, but I find so much joy and pride in crafting something with specificity.
